OUR COMPANY
We are a company dedicated to the Production and Supply of medical and industrial gases based in the city of San Juan, Argentina. Founded 75 years ago in the province of San Juan, La Platense s.a. has been growing from generation to generation and up to this day remains entirely family-owned with the totality of its share capital in local hands. Our permanent focus on the demands of our clients has allowed us to become the leading supplier of the region´s gas market.
We are proud of our grand variety of clients reaching from hospitals, clinics and sanitariums to a wide range of industries including metal processing, winery, food industries and mining; all of which we are supplying with our own motilities and logistics.
La Platense s.a. also counts with its own industrial hadware store, mainly specialized on welding supplies, offering an integral solution to the needs of our industrial clients.
Over the last years we have been able to expand our portfolio adding the service of installation and maintenance/mounting of gas lines for the health care sector as well as for industrial applications and laboratories working together with bioengineers and fitters.
OUR COMPANY
OUR HISTORY
The first gas plant was installed in the decade of the 50ies by Don Saúl Goransky in the historical premises located in the heart of San Juan. Up to present date, the building in the 9 de Julio street functions/serves/is home to/accommodates/is used as commercial office and showroom for the industrial hardware store.
In 2001 the company inaugurated a further production site with the installation of a new gas production plant in Avenida Benavídez street, north of the city center. Today this industrial complex houses the complete production and the logistics of the company.
Over the years with growing needs of our clients and challenges of the industry as for example the Mining business, more production plants were incorporated.
Today we count with 3 production plants for producer gases and 2 production plants for acetylene which allows our company be independent and meet demand even in periods of great need and hardship for the local population as has been the Covid-19 pandemic, supplying the total of our clients both in the medical as well as the industrial sector, representing an exception on national level where several provinces had to report shortages of gas supply during peak consumption.
